TRAINING Once computer equipment is properly configured, installed and working, the next question should be "are we getting our money's worth from our investment?". Too often, this basic question is overlooked or ignored. You've made the investment, but are you using the technology in such a way that you or your firm can achieve productivity gains? Is your organization realizing measurable operational efficiencies? Besides supplemental and ongoing support and preventive maintenance service contracts, the primary method for achieving technology optimization is via training. On average, people learn how to use just enough of a software program to get by, to minimally achieve the task at hand. Computer operators and knowledge professionals need continual training and support. Technology changes, upgrades constant and automation needs change. Invest in yourself and your people. Knowledge is power.
