COMMUNITY Concord MA is a rich and interesting community, located just northwest of Boston MA. It is the home of the American Transcendental movement of philosophy, a product of authors including Thoreau, Emerson, Hawthorne, Alcott (and many others). It is a popular historical destination for bus-tours and has great shopping and restaurants. There are many walking and hiking trails, as well as the famous Walden Pond. Located in Concord (and neighboring Lexington) is the Minuteman National Historical Park, the Old North Bridge (site the first battle of the American Revolution), Sleepy Hollow Cemetery and the home of Daniel Chester French (sculptor known for the Lincoln Memorial). Since 1873, the Concord Free Public Library has been a cornerstone of the social, cultural, educational and recreational life of the Concord MA community. It's a great place to spend a few days when you are touring New England.
